A roughneck is responsible for the machinery and equipment used on the oil rig for the drilling operations. Roughnecks can also be required to work as laborer's on the rig floor and they usually work in groups of 3.

Roughnecks are usually supervised by the chief driller. This position is a great opportunity for someone with experience in welding and mechanics.
